About

The Souderton Community Pool provides positive, affordable and accessible activities for the entire community. It teaches skills, provides jobs, offers a wholesome family activity for any age, provides the facility to maintain and improve health, and contributes to an overall quality of life.

Closed for renovation in the 2010 season, some planned improvements include: an updated filtration system, a new concession stand with a healthier menu, a large slide in the upper pool, a safer diving well built to specifications for cometitive swim meets, and larger, more modern bathouses.

Additional plans for renovation are progressing with the grand re-opening scheduled for Memorial Day weekend 2011, if funding is secured. Souderton Borough has already obtained four grants, the Borough Council has approved $2 million in debt service, and Telford Borough and Franconia Township are contributing in-kind services. But we need to raise $1 million dollars to make sure the pool opens on time.

Show your support for the pool and hang a poster in your window, donate funds or services, attend borough council meetings when the pool is on the agenda and encourage others to do the same. Tell your councilors you want the pool. The borough welcomes community involvement and ideas: share your thoughts!

Since 1928 the pool has been a fixture of our community. It has fostered generations of good fun and its presence is woven into the fabric of the community's identity. Let's offer our children and our grandchildren the same opportunities that we enjoyed and keep the renovation fiscally responsible for the community. Make a donation today.
